Manuka Oval is one of Australia’s most iconic venues.

Set in the picturesque suburb of Manuka, it is the premier venue for AFL and cricket in Canberra with a seating capacity of approximately 14,500 including standing room.

The Manuka Oval precinct retains much of its original tree plantings from the 1920s, with now-large mature specimens of cypress, poplar, oak and elm trees defining the circular space of the sports ground.

It is also home to the historic Jack Fingleton scoreboard which was originally located at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground.

From the oval, the tower of St Christopher's Cathedral and Red Hill are the only visible features outside the ground. On site, the original curator's cottage and the Lord's Taverners garden add a certain charm to the environment.

Manuka Oval hosts multiple AFL matches per year, as well as local cricket and the famous PM's XI and is just 10 minutes from Parliament House and the airport, with plenty of on-site parking.

Like GIANTS Stadium in Sydney, fans can enjoy kick to kick on the ground after every GIANTS match.

In 2012 the AFL and the Greater Western Sydney GIANTS partnered with the ACT government to redevelop Manuka Oval. The redevelopment aligned with the GIANTS' introduction into the AFL national competition and has seen the introduction of light towers for twilight/night matches as well as new reserved seating within the Eastern Hill Stands.

A lowering of the field for better drainage and additional rows of seats being added has seen the capacity of the oval grow to above 16,000 including standing room. Further developments are planned for the future in order to ensure Manuka Oval remains a premier sporting venue for Australia’s two most popular sports within our nation’s capital.
