Co-captain Phil Davis will return to the GIANTS side to take on the Power at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

Davis withdrew from the team to take on Collingwood late on Friday afternoon, handing over the captaincy to Toby Greene.

“Phil just pulled up a bit sore after the Richmond game, it was a bit soft down there at the MCG and he was just a bit tight,” GIANTS General Manager of Football Wayne Campbell said.

“He got through the Captain’s Run but with our policy for the year, we’re no risk, so he didn’t play.

“He’s trained fully this week and will play against Port Adelaide on Saturday night.”

Defender Adam Kennedy is at the club and feeling well after an unusual medical episode on Saturday during the NEAFL clash at GIANTS Stadium.

“He got a bit of a knock on his shoulder and was sort of being treated for that, but all of a sudden had a shortness of breath, his heart started to race a bit,” Campbell said.

“He went pale so it was a bit scary for a little while there but the doctors had him under control.

“They called the ambulance, he went to hospital and had some tests there. By the time he left the hospital his heart rate was back down to a normal rate.

“He’s having some further tests today with a cardiologist, so at this stage he’s a chance to play this week but he might also miss, so we’ll just have to see what the results say.”

The GIANTS take on Port Adelaide in Heath Shaw’s 300th game on Saturday night at Adelaide Oval.
