MILESTONE
Star midfielder Tom Green will play his 100th AFL game in Sunday’s clash with the Cats. One of the premier midfielders in the competition, Green is a member of the club’s leadership group and has been a vital part of the GIANTS’ side since being taken with pick 10 in the 2019 AFL Draft. A product of the GIANTS Academy, Green was born in Townsville but raised in Canberra and is a huge fan favourite at every home game the GIANTS play in the nation’s capital each year. The big-bodied midfielder played six games in his debut season and claimed the GIANTS' Rising Star Award by the end of his second year. After a standout 2022, where he finished in the top three in the Kevin Sheedy Medal, Green took his game to another level with a breakout 2023 campaign to earn himself a spot in the All-Australian squad for the first time, as well as a tie for runner-up in the Kevin Sheedy Medal. One of the best inside midfielders in the AFL, Green’s clean hands and ability to put teammates out into space saw him finish fifth in last year’s Brownlow medal. Green signed a new contract in 2023 to remain a GIANT until at least the end of the 2027 season.
