Important midfielder Finn Callaghan returns to the side for a critical match this Saturday, against reigning premiers Brisbane Lions.

Sidelined by a shoulder dislocation, suffered in the GIANTS round 10 loss to the Dockers, Callaghan has been hyper-focused in his recovery and comes back into the team looking to help the GIANTS re-find their best, after a disappointing loss to the Power last weekend.

The young gun had been in career-best form before the setback, averaging 27 touches and playing a crucial transition role in the GIANTS engine room, alongside Tom Green.

Callaghan headlines two inclusion for the GIANTS, with youngster Harry Rowston also given the green light, chasing more minutes to add to his 2025 tally following his return to the side against Carlton in round 11.

The round 11 match marked Rowston’s first senior minutes since 2023 and his eighth overall at AFL level.

Rowston’s call-up comes off the back of clinical VFL form, including a significant role in last week’s win over the Northern Bullants (21 disposals, eight tackles, four clearances, two goals).

Callaghan and Rowston come into the team at a key point of the season as team’s head into bye rounds and the competition evens and the GIANTS look to find consistent form looking toward the back-half of the year.

Jacob Wehr and Toby McMullin have been omitted from the side to make way for the midfield pair.
