The GIANTS have added three names to their 25-man squad for their clash with Richmond at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.

Vice-captain Stephen Coniglio could return to the side for the first time since injuring his ankle in round eight while Will Setterfield and Isaac Cumming are in line to debut on Sunday if selected.

Head coach Leon Cameron – who signed a two-year contract extension today– said that Coniglio will play this weekend, it’s just a matter of where.

“’Cogs’ has trained for a few weeks now, the question is if we feel he needs to come back at NEAFL level or AFL,” Cameron said.

“We’ll make that decision some time tomorrow.”

Jeremy Cameron will spend another week on the sidelines with a hamstring injury after the key forward was a late withdrawal from the GIANTS’ 22 before Sydney Derby XIII last Saturday.

“He’s not right, his hamstring is a bit tight so we’re not going to go there,” Cameron said.

“It’s unfortunate but we’ve got to play this safe game with him, we don’t want to lose him for five or six weeks. We expect him to play against Fremantle.”

Cameron said the GIANTS will also wait and see with forward Matt de Boer, who suffered a concussion during the first quarter of the GIANTS’ 13-points loss to the Swans.

“We’ll have a good look at it, he’s had two concussions this year; one in the NEAFL and one last week in the AFL,” he said.

“Head issues are obviously important to every football club so we’ve got to make sure if Matt’s suitable to play or not.

“We’ve still got another three days to decide if he’ll play the game on Sunday.”
