Exciting first-year player Teagan Germech will spend up to six weeks on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

The 21-year-old made her AFLW debut in the GIANTS’ opening round clash and had held her spot in the team up until injuring her ankle in the opening quarter of last weekend’s clash against the Crows in Canberra.

The tall midfielder left the ground early in the first quarter following an awkward landing during a tackle and did not return to the field.

Scans earlier this week confirmed a high-grade lateral ankle sprain but will not require surgery.

Meanwhile, draftee Annise Bradfield has been dealt another setback having undergone minor knee surgery for a pre-existing injury that had recently flared up.

The former Sun underwent an arthroscope on her right knee, which has delayed her existing lisfranc rehabilitation, with the 20-year-old now aiming to be available for the final rounds of the home and away season.

Young Tasmanian Madison Brazendale is progressing well following her ankle surgery and is also on track be available for the final games of the season.

The GIANTS will travel to Melbourne to take on the Kangaroos on Sunday at Arden Street Oval.
