Our Season Summary looks back at how each GIANTS player fared during the 2015 AFL season.

Name: Jon Patton
Number: 12
2015 Games: 3 AFL / 4 NEAFL
AFL Fantasy Average: 51
Awards: Nil

Background: Jon Patton was selected with pick 1 in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft and has played 32 games for the GIANTS.

Best Game: AFL Round 21 v Sydney - 11 disposals, 5 marks, 4 tackles and 2 goals.

Summary: In one of the most anticipated returns of the season, Jon Patton successfully completed his rehabilitation from a second knee reconstruction. The big key forward came back through the NEAFL in Round 14 and played four matches. In that time he managed to average four goals per match which was an extraordinary effort considering he played limited game time. After missing 12 months of senior football, Patton finally made his return to AFL against Essendon in Round 19 and celebrated with a win. He played the following two matches before being rested for the remainder of the season.

Pat On The Back: With a serious physical injury comes tough mental hurdles to overcome. Patton battled through his rehabilitation exceptionally and took his time to get both his body and head right before returning.

What They Said: “After all the hard work he’s put in and the dedication he’s shown to his rehabilitation, his return to football is exciting for both Jon, his teammates and the club." - Leon Cameron

Look Ahead: Hopefully with his bad luck now behind him Patton can gel with Jeremy Cameron, Steve Johnson and other forwards to create an intimidating attack for the GIANTS.
