GIANTS Academy member James Peatling has been awarded the Round 16 Tribal Sport NEAFL Rising Star nomination after continuing his superb NEAFL form in their draw with Brisbane.

Fresh off a two-week stint training with the AFL GIANTS, 17-year-old Peatling collected 22 disposals, four clearances, five inside 50s and two goals at the Gabba on Saturday, and also picked up one NEAFL MVP vote.

It was the fourth time from his seven games this season that Peatling has featured amongst the GIANTS’ best players.

A western Sydney product, Peatling played his junior football at Parramatta Lions and made his NEAFL debut in 2017 when he was just 16.

Peatling played eight NEAFL games last year but has come along in leaps and bounds in 2018.

The forward recently completed his second two-week training stint with the GIANTS AFL side as he continues to stake his claim for AFL Draft selection.

The Tribal Sport NEAFL Rising Star is awarded to the most promising young talent in the NEAFL competition.

Nominees must be under the age of 21 and played less than 20 senior games (excluding games as AFL Academy players) at the start of the 2018 season.
