Jeremy Cameron and Brett Deledio have been ruled out of the GIANTS’ Friday night clash with Geelong at GMHBA Stadium.

Cameron has succumbed to a toe injury while Deledio will miss with hamstring soreness.

“Brett played the entire game but noticed it at the end of the game against the Lions,” said GIANTS Head of Athletic Performance David Joyce.

“We’re taking obviously a cautious approach with Brett. It’s disappointing because he’s played some terrific footy over the course of the season so far but with a six-day turnaround we’re just not prepared to risk that.

“Jeremy has been battling with his left big toe for a number of weeks and we just feel that this is the right time - again, a six-day turnaround - to just give him a chop-out this week and hopefully both will be back wearing the guernsey really soon.”

Young forward Zac Langdon is a chance of lining up in Geelong after hurting his knee in the second quarter of the GIANTS’ win over the Lions last weekend.

“On the weekend we weren’t quite sure exactly how it would be and we weren’t prepared to risk him in that game,” he said.

“He’s actually pulled up really, really well and the scans have come back with positive news for us. He needs to get through training and hopefully figure this weekend.”

Joyce also confirmed midfielder Josh Kelly (groin) and ruck Rory Lobb (knee) would miss the Cats clash with the pair listed as 1-2 weeks away from returning.

“They’re both running and all those sorts of things so we’re pretty hopeful of a reasonably quick turnaround for those guys,” Joyce said.

As coach Leon Cameron confirmed post-game on Saturday, star forward Toby Greene has a hot spot in his foot that will keep him sidelined in the near future.

“He’s got a stress reaction in one of the bones in his mid-foot, the exact extent of which is still being determined,” Joyce said.

“We’ve got some more investigations ongoing with him and we expect to have a little bit more clarity in the coming days.”

The GIANTS head to Geelong to take on the Cats at GMHBA Stadium in their only Friday night match of the season.
