The GIANTS’ blockbuster match against Geelong at StarTrack Oval on Saturday is officially sold out.

Ticket sales tracked well all week with platinum and silver categories selling out by Thursday. General Admission sold out on Friday morning with the last standing room tickets becoming available on Friday afternoon.

Silver unreserved members can still scan into the ground however we recommend arriving early to secure your preferred seat, otherwise standing room will be available once Silver unreserved is at capacity.

This is the first home game in the GIANTS’ history to sell out with a crowd of over 14,000 expected on Saturday.

The crowd will surpass the GIANTS’ biggest-ever crowd in the nation’s capital set in 2013 with 11,092 attending a match against St Kilda in just the GIANTS’ second year.

The highest ever AFL attendance at StarTrack Oval was set almost a decade ago in 2006 before the ground underwent renovations when 14,992 people watched North Melbourne play the Swans.

GIANTS CEO David Matthews said it’s was another important step for the club.

“It’s fantastic to see so many Canberra people coming out to support the GIANTS today,” Matthews said.

“This game against Geelong is one of the biggest games in the context of our season and probably the biggest AFL match the nation’s capital has seen.

“We are proud to be Canberra’s team and have seen the support from the local community and surrounding areas grow and grow over the past four years.

“With two wins from our first two AFL games at StarTrack Oval this year, our Canberra fans have seen some exciting football this year and I’m sure that will continue today.”

It’s been a big week of milestones for the club with the GIANTS also reaching their highest-ever membership figure, passing last year’s tally of 13,047 members this week

“It’s been a big season already and there’s still a long way to go,” Matthews said.

“Our performances on the field have improved greatly and with our membership numbers and crowd attendances up, it clearly shows we’re heading in the right direction.

“Sitting in the top eight with seven rounds to go, we’ll be pushing hard to make our first finals series which will be another huge step for the GIANTS.”

The GIANTS play Geelong at StarTrack Oval in Canberra on Saturday at 1.45pm. The game will be live on Fox Sports 3 and 7mate and across NSW and the ACT and Channel 7 nationally. The GIANTS will also have full coverage on their Twitter and Facebook pages.
