Vice-captain Heath Shaw will miss the GIANTS' match against Adelaide on Sunday due to a minor hamstring injury.

Shaw suffered the injury in the loss to the Western Bulldogs at StarTrack Oval last weekend, but is expected to be available for the Round 6 match against the Gold Coast Suns.

He’ll join ruckman Shane Mumford on the sidelines who’ll miss the next one to two games following a minor operation on his knee.

Midfielder Will Hoskin-Elliott will undergo a fitness test after he suffered a cork in the first quarter against the Bulldogs.

In better news for the GIANTS, midfielder Dylan Shiel is available to return to the line up following a quad injury that has sidelined the 21-year-old since Round 1.

Midfielders Lachie Whitfield (foot), Rhys Palmer (hamstring), Sam Schulz (shoulder) and Tim Mohr (knee) remain on track to return to the field in the coming weeks.

Co-captain Phil Davis continues to recover from a kidney injury suffered in the opening match of the season against the Swans.
