GIANTS midfielders Devon Smith and Sam Reid have been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing hip surgery.

Smith played 18 games for the GIANTS this season as a small forward and midfielder to take his career tally to 38 games while Reid played a variety of roles in his nine matches in 2013.

The duo have undergone surgery with the hope they’ll be ready to resume full training with the GIANTS for pre-season in November.

Midfielder Jono O’Rourke could return for the UWS GIANTS elimination final in the NEAFL this Saturday after missing last weekend with a shoulder injury.
