A superstar of the competition, the GIANTS captain is one of the league’s most dynamic players and a certified match-winner. An inaugural GIANT after being selected with pick 11 in the 2011 AFL Draft, Greene has built a reputation over the last 14 years as one of the most lethal forwards in the competition. Possessing an innate goal sense and an uncanny ability to create something out of nothing, Greene is a big game player who loves to stand up in pressure moments and lead the way for his side. After co-captaining the team with Stephen Coniglio and Josh Kelly in 2022, Greene was appointed sole captain by coach Adam Kingsley ahead of the 2023 season. Already a two-time All-Australian and a GIANTS club champion at that stage, the extra responsibility only further enhanced Greene’s on-field performance as he put forward his best season yet in 2023, kicking a career-best 66 goals and leading the GIANTS to a preliminary final. His exceptional 2023 season earned him the All-Australian captaincy for the first time, marking his third blazer, as well as the 2023 Kevin Sheedy Medal, adding to his 2016 club champion award. In 2025 Greene brought up a special milestone, becoming just the second GIANT to play 250 games for the club in a year he also kicked his 400th AFL goal.
