A GIANTS Academy product, the club was rapt to take Rowston with pick 16 in the 2022 AFL Draft after matching Sydney’s bid for the talented midfielder. Rowston is a well-built onballer with a high footy IQ and versatility that also allows him to play as a forward. Rowston managed seven games at AFL level in his debut season of 2023 while also displaying strong form in the VFL to show he’s an exciting prospect for the future. Having managed a back issue in 2024, Rowston was unable to add to his AFL tally but when fit, continued to perform strongly in the VFL to show he’s got the talent to become a regular in the club’s AFL side. After more strong form in the VFL in the front half of 2025, Rowston broke into the AFL side in round 11 and went on to play nine straight games in the senior side, highlighted by a starring four-goal performance playing up forward against the Suns in round 23. Following his strong finish to the 2025 season, Rowston will be hoping to become a regular in the AFL side in 2026.
