One of the competition’s most exciting players, Evans quickly cemented herself as a rising star of the game. A fantastic athlete and a natural footballer, Evans has shown the ability to star as a key position player at either end of the ground. An impressive endurance athlete hailing from Tathra on the NSW South Coast, Evans was taken by the GIANTS with pick nine in the 2020 AFLW Draft and quickly burst onto the scene to become one of the league’s most promising young defenders. Standing at 178cm tall and full of athleticism, Evans’ silky left foot, strong hands, and her footy smarts saw her excel as an elite intercepting defender across her first few seasons. After being named in the AFL Players’ Association AFLW 22Under22 team in seasons six and seven as a rebounding defender, Evans’ talent and versatility was highlighted in 2024 when she was named in the AFL Players’ Association AFLW 22Under22 team for the third straight season - but this time at centre half forward. Making the full-time switch up forward ahead of 2024, Evans has spent the past two seasons being the focal point in attack for the GIANTS, with her tremendous work rate and her booming left foot making her a continuous threat for opposing backlines. Evans finished equal-third in the Gabrielle Trainor Medal in 2025 after a brilliant season finishing as the side’s leading goalkicker. Also a valued part of the GIANTS’ leadership group, Evans will be looking to continue to elevate her standing as one of the league’s best young players in 2026.
