Originally from Perth but possessing strong Italian roots, Coniglio is an inaugural GIANT and one of the club’s greatest ever players. Choosing football over a promising cricket career as a teenager, Coniglio was one of the club’s young stars in its formative years as he rose to becoming one of the league’s premier midfielders. Coniglio served as the GIANTS’ captain in 2020 and 2021 before transitioning to co-captain alongside Toby Greene and Josh Kelly in 2022 and then vice-captain since 2023. Runner-up in the GIANTS’ club champion award in both 2022 and 2023, as well as a member of the 2023 All-Australian squad, Coniglio is blessed with line-breaking speed and is one of the league’s most exciting midfielders when at the peak of his powers. Coniglio became just the fourth inaugural GIANT to reach the 200-game milestone during the 2023 season. Coniglio will be looking to return to full fitness in 2026 after a tough run with multiple injuries across the last two seasons which have limited him to just 25 total games across the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
