As tennis players, they make much better footballers. Three young GIANTS spent the day at the Apia International Sydney learning a thing or two about tennis, but making sure they passed on some tricks of the AFL trade as well.

Second-year GIANTS Caleb Marchbank, Jeremy Finlayson and Paul Ahern headed across the road from the GIANTS’ Learning Life Centre in Sydney Olympic Park for the start of Sydney’s premier tennis tournament as Australia’s summer of tennis gets underway.

The boys had a hit with world number two Simona Halep and world number 28 Grigor Dimitrov as well as a couple of Nickelodeon characters as part of the tournament’s Kids Tennis Day on Sunday.

The players then visited the GIANTS inflatables and membership marquee in the Kids Zone to sign some autographs, teach some kids to kick and handball and meet a very special guest.

Spain’s Tommy Robredo, formerly a world number five ranked player, paid a visit to the boys as they taught him the ins and outs of playing AFL and a couple of football skills.

The Apia International Sydney runs all this week at the Tennis Centre at Sydney Olympic Park, located right next to the GIANTS’ Learning Life Centre on Olympic Boulevard.
