The GIANTS will hold their Australia Post AFL Community Camp in Canberra next month.

It will be the club's third Australia Post AFL Community Camp in Canberra with the entire GIANTS playing list and coaching staff to spread throughout the community on December 2 and 3.

GIANTS players will visit schools, hospitals and local football clubs on the two day camp and complete training sessions at Ainslie and the Australian Institute of Sport.

New Head Coach Leon Cameron made the announcement today at StarTrack Oval Canberra alongside former Swans premiership ruckman Shane Mumford who started training with the GIANTS this week.

The GIANTS will play the Swans in their opening NAB Challenge match for 2014 under lights at StarTrack Oval Canberra on February 20.

“We’re really looking forward to once again holding our Australia Post AFL Community Camp in Canberra,” said Cameron.

"We’ve always had fantastic support from the people of Canberra and they’re an integral part of the GIANTS. I also want to thank the ACT Government and Sports Minister Andrew Barr for its support of the GIANTS and for establishing a genuine AFL club presence in the nation's capital.”

“The players really enjoy playing at StarTrack Oval because of the support we get from our fans here and we are looking forward to thanking them in person early next month.

“We had over 3500 members from the ACT this year and we’re looking to build on that in 2014 with four big games in Canberra, starting with a NAB Challenge match against the Swans on February 20.

"If you haven't signed up as a member for 2014 yet make sure you get on board now to reserve your seat at StarTrack Oval for what we hope will be an exciting year for the club."

Sports Minister Andrew Barr said he was delighted the GIANTS would once again hold their Australia Post AFL Community Camp in the nations capital.

"Footy fans from Canberra and the region have embraced the GIANTS as evidenced by the strong crowds the team has attracted to its matches at StarTrack Oval Canberra and the Community Camp will be a great chance for fans to connect with their local team,” Barr said.

The GIANTS will also host three Toyota AFL premiership matches at StarTrack Oval Canberra starting with the Western Bulldogs on Saturday April 12. They will also play Port Adelaide on May 3 and North Melbourne on August 9.

"We think this is a terrific fixture against three sides all vying for a finals spot in 2014 and a great opportunity to showcase the GIANTS and AFL to the people of Canberra," Cameron said.

"We would also love to see GIANTS fans in Sydney and AFL fans around Australia come to Canberra for these games and enjoy everything the nation's capital has to offer."
