Tom Scully, Steve Johnson, Rory Lobb and Tendai Mzungu are all facing fitness tests for the GIANTS’ round 11 clash against Essendon at Spotless Stadium.

Scully withdrew from the GIANTS’ win over the Eagles in Perth on Sunday with coach Leon Cameron opting not to risk the running machine, saying post match he was “90 per cent right” to play.

Suffering knee soreness, Scully faces a fitness test to be available to take on Essendon at Spotless Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Forwards Steve Johnson (knee) and Rory Lobb (groin) could also return to the side with both facing fitness tests later in the week.

The duo spent last weekend on the sidelines with their minor complaints.

Former Fremantle recruit Tendai Mzungu is in line to return from the serious torn hamstring he suffered in his GIANTS debut in round one, with the midfielder also listed as a test.

Young GIANTS Lachie Tiziani (knee) and Jeremy Finlayson (groin) are available for selection and expected to boost the club’s depleted Reserves side, who fielded just three listed players last weekend.

The club looks set to start to re-gain some players following the round 13 bye with midfielder Jacob Hopper two weeks away from a return after a broken finger that required surgery.

Veteran Ryan Griffen and draftee Will Setterfield - who both suffered ankle syndesmosis injuries at the same time - are listed as 3-4 weeks away.

Nick Haynes (hamstring) is at least a month away from returning to the field while Devon Smith (knee - 5 weeks) and Stephen Coniglio (ankle - 8 weeks) are longer-term prospects.

Gun recruit Brett Deledio’s return from a persistent calf injury is still to be determined with the club taking a cautious approach to his comeback.
