Pre-season training is all about heavy lifting, and AFLW partner Grace Group are doing their fair share ahead of November 20.

Under new Head Coach Alan McConnell, the AFLW side will come together for their first session in less than three weeks.

While many of the GIANTS players are from Sydney, Canberra and the surrounding areas, the 2018 list also includes a number of players that relocate to Sydney to play for the GIANTS - the only AFLW team representing NSW and the ACT.

Victorian defender Alex Saundry and Perth-based Aimee Schmidt made the most of the Grace Group partnership as they settled into their new home in the inner-west this week.

“We’re really excited to get our stuff in today and get set up so we’re ready for day one of pre-season,” said Saundry.

“Grace has been great in facilitating the move and making sure everything has gone smoothly.

“The movers in both Sydney and Melbourne have taken really good care of our stuff which is the most important thing.

“With the move all sorted, we can now enjoy our time and settle in before getting back into that routine that will set us up to kick start our pre-season well.”

After finishing eighth in the inaugural AFLW season, the GIANTS have brought in 14 new players into the program ahead of the 2018 season.

With almost 50 per cent of the list being turned over, Saundry is bullish about the team’s prospects heading into the new pre-season.

“As a team we know we need to function a lot more professionally moving into the season," she said.

“We need results on the board because at the end of the day, football is a business and we’ve got to win games and have scores on the board.”

Like the GIANTS' AFLW team, Grace Group is moving into their second season with the club.
