LAST WEEK

In the Battle of the Bridge derby, the Swans were far too good for the GIANTS winning 20.13 (133) to 6.8 (44).

A shining light on a tough day for the young Greater Western Sydney brigade was veteran Heath Shaw. The defender is enjoying his best Fantasy season to date racking up another massive score of 119 thanks to his 26 kicks, six handballs, five marks and three tackles.

Shaw’s Fantasy numbers have been boosted this season as he has taken 37 more kick-ins than any other player in the AFL with 163. While the kick-in itself doesn’t count for Fantasy points, when he kicks it to himself, which he has done on 61 occasions, the kick counts.

He also has had his highest kick to handball ratio in his career of 4.3:1.

Adam Treloar collected 29 touches to be the only other GIANT to score over the Fantasy ton. Callan Ward (92) and Ryan Griffen (88) posted solid returns.

  • 92 – Callan Ward (MID, $386,000)

ON THE RADAR

With games up against Carlton and Melbourne in the final two rounds, there could be some big Fantasy points on offer.

Round 22 and 23 are the Fantasy preliminary and grand final rounds respectively.

As I mentioned last week, look to get in the best over these last few rounds. Cash cows shouldn’t be the priority as it’s about maximising points on field and that is generally through trading in premium players.

Heath Shaw and Ryan Griffen look the goods down back, while Adam Treloar should be your first pick GIANT in the midfield. Callan Ward has the potential to score highly and is currently at a good price. Toby Greene is the best of the available forwards.

WHAT’S COMING UP

This week it’s the Blues at Spotless Stadium.

Last time Adam Treloar top scored with 133 points off the back of his 31 touches and three goals. Shane Mumford (110), Dylan Shiel (104) and Toby Greene (104) were among the top scorers in the round seven fixture.
