GIANTS co-captain Phil Davis will have to undergo a fitness test to take his place against Collingwood at Spotless Stadium this Saturday.

Davis was subbed out of the match against Melbourne with concussion in the second term on Sunday but could return for the GIANTS last home game of the season. The 23-year old has also had a sore calf.

Fellow co-captain Callan Ward will miss this week with a calf injury, while ruckman Rory Lobb and midfielders Jacob Townsend and Sam Schulz will face fitness tests.

A date for Jon Patton’s knee surgery is yet to be set, with the key forward to miss the next 12 months due to the ACL injury suffered in the second term of the GIANTS 64-point win at the MCG.

Patton joins Tom Scully, Jeremy Cameron, Lachie Whitfield, Nick Haynes, Stephen Coniglio, Tim Mohr and Aidan Corr on the sidelines for the rest of the season.
