A new era has begun for the GIANTS with the opening of the club's state of the art training and administration centre at Sydney Olympic Park.

The club's administrative staff were the first to move into the facility this week with the football department to follow later in the month.

The centre includes an indoor training field, gymnasium and running track and overlooks the GIANTS training oval, Tom Wills Oval, where the club has been training for the past six months.

It will also be home to the Learning Life Centre, which will run educational programs for thousands of young people from Western Sydney.

For the past 12 months, GIANTS staff and players have been working in temporary facilities in Sydney Olympic Park as work on the new centre was completed.

Chief Executive David Matthews said the centre would enlarge  the GIANTS' footprint across Western Sydney.
"With Tom Wills Oval we have, for the first time, access to a year round oval and a dedicated training base with the very best facilities for our playing group," he said.

"It is a short distance from GIANTS Stadium as well as other facilities in the Sydney Olympic Park and will rival the elite training facilities of any sporting club in Australia and give us the best chance of achieving long term, on-field success.

"We remain committed to delivering hundreds of hours of community programs across Western Sydney including Blacktown, which remains an integral part of our club, and the Learning Life Centre is also a key part of this commitment.

"We will play two pre-season matches at Blacktown International Sportspark as well as matches there involving the UWS GIANTS and we acknowledge the Blacktown City Council for their ongoing support of AFL.

"Blacktown has hosted the NAB AFL Under 16 championships for a number of years as well as the PM CAPITAL GIANTS Academy and we are heartened by the continued strong growth in the number of people playing AFL in Western Sydney."

The centre has been funded by the Federal and State Governments and the AFL and will be officially opened next month.

GIANTS fans will also be able to visit the club to watch training and buy the latest merchandise from the new shop inside the centre.

The GIANTS wish to thank partner Allied Pickfords for assisting with the move. Call Allied Pickfords on 13 25  54 to find out how they can help you.
