GIANTS forward Jeremy Cameron has been selected in the inaugural 22under22 side at the AFL Players’ Association Awards.

The 20-year-old was named at full forward having kicked 62 goals this season to finish third in the Coleman Medal.

The 22under22 is a new concept that recognises the best 22 young players in the competition based on AFLPA board nominations and then fan votes.

Cameron was named alongside fellow young forwards Jack Darling from West Coast, Port’s Chad Wingard and Tiger Dustin Martin.

GIANTS midfielder Adam Treloar was included in the 40 man squad but couldn’t secure a spot alongside the likes of Fremantle’s Nate Fyfe, Gold Coast’s Jaeger O’Meara and Daniel Hannebery from the Sydney Swans.

Essendon midfielder Dyson Heppell was named as captain of the team.

Players must be aged 22 or under for the entire AFL season in order to be eligible and those selected in the final team were presented with a 22under22 New Era hat in a Perspex case.
