The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have named close to a full strength squad to play St Kilda in a practice match at Blacktown International Sportspark this Saturday.

After missing the final NAB Cup match against Essendon at Manuka Oval last Friday forwards Jon Patton and Jeremy Cameron return alongside midfielders Devon Smith and Lachie Whitfield in the 28 man squad.

Ruckman Jonathan Giles and defender Stephen Gilham have also been named after missing the match in Canberra. Will Hoskin-Elliott will play his first match for the pre-season having overcome an abductor injury.
Anthony Miles and Sam Reid have also earned a spot in the GIANTS squad after strong displays for the UWS GIANTS in the NEAFL last weekend.   Number two draft pick Jono O’Rourke, will miss the game after injuring his hamstring against the Bombers.

GIANTS coach Kevin Sheedy said it was a strong squad for the final pre-season match before taking on the Sydney Swans in the Battle of the Bridge at ANZ Stadium on March 30.

“We’ve brought a number of players back to the side and I think we’ve got a pretty good side to play against the Saints,” Sheedy said. “In comes big forwards Jon Patton and Jeremy Cameron, as well as Steve Gilham, and we’ll also have a look at Lachie Whitfield and Will Hoskin-Elliott.

“They’re a number of changes to our line up and we can’t wait to get to Blacktown.  It’s the first time St Kilda has ever set foot in the Greater Western Sydney area so it’s going to be a great game.”

The match is at 2pm on Saturday, and entry is free for GIANTS members on presentation of their 2013 membership card. General admission is $5 for adults and juniors under 15 are admitted free.

We will be streaming the match LIVE on GIANTS TV from 2pm on Saturday
