GIANTS recruit Matt De Boer will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks with a hamstring injury.

De Boer suffered the injury at training on Monday.

The 26-year old joined the GIANTS via the 2016 NAB AFL Draft after 138 games for the Fremantle Dockers.

GIANTS Head of Athletic Performance David Joyce said: “Matt has contributed really well to our playing group throughout the pre-season.

“This is obviously a disappointing setback for Matt but no doubt he'll do his rehab very diligently to return to the field in the coming weeks."

The GIANTS will play their next JLT Community Series game against the Swans at Blacktown International Sportspark on Friday, March 3 as part of a huge double-header with the GIANTS' AFL Women's team.
