The head of the GIANTS cheer squad Kath Dell’Orefice has been named the GIANTS Woman of the Year for 2014. 

She was presented with her award at the annual GIANTS’ Ladies Lunch Ivy Ballroom last Friday.

More than 350 people attended the lunch co-hosted by GIANTS number-one ticket holder and chair of the GIANTS Foundation Melissa Doyle and AFL legend Robert DiPierdomenico

AFL commissioner and former Family Court judge Justice Linda Dessau delivered the keynote address on  the role of women in the AFL community.

The lunch also featured a panel discussion with some of Australia’s leading female sporting personalities including Olympic diver Melissa Wu, Southern Stars cricketer Alyssa Healy, broadcaster Kelli Underwood and Auburn GIANTS founder Amna Karra-Hassan,

The lunch was attended by the majority of the GIANTS playing list and staff including coach Leon Cameron. Curtly Hampton also addressed the lunch on the significance of the Indigenous jumper worn by the team during the past two matches.
