The Amazing Zorko gets Bugged

Greater Western Sydney stopper Tommy Bugg claimed another victim when he put the clamps on Brisbane Lions speedster Dayne Zorko. The pair went at it from the opening bounce, and landed plenty of body shots on each other behind play, but Bugg got his man. Zorko finished the day with 18 possessions and two goals, but honours went to the GIANT.

The Lions need of a mid-season draft

Their reserves side had only a handful of AFL listed players available and lost by almost 200 points to the GIANTS. Their injury list featured 19 players mid-week, with captain Tom Rockliff, Jed Adcock, Jack Redden, James Aish, Claye Beams and Daniel Merrett amongst those in the rehab ward, and the Lions can't do a thing about it. It must be a nightmare selection meeting every week at the Gabba.

Is Ryan Griffen playing hurt?

The former Bulldogs captain had a shocker against his old club last week and it was put it down to nerves and/or the Dogs' pressure, but he was again extremely quiet against the Lions. Griffen had battled back issues for some time and spent large parts of the GIANTS' round 10 win deep in the forward line. Finished the game with just 15 touches and failed to have an influence on the contest.

Which of the GIANTS' star unsigned trio is in the best form?

Dylan Shiel, Adam Treloar and Stephen Coniglio are yet to commit to the GIANTS beyond 2015, but the constant speculation surrounding their future isn't affecting them in the slightest. Shiel could be an early leader in the Brownlow, Treloar is a ball magnet, and Coniglio is a star and severely underrated by the rest of the competition. If I'm putting them in order according to form and consistency, it's Shiel, Coniglio, Treloar for me.
