Everyone knows GIANTS players are talented footballers but how much do you really know about their lives off the field?

Here are five things you didn’t know about midfielder Stephen Coniglio:

1) Multilingual – I can speak bits of pieces of Italian but not many people know I’m also taking regular Spanish lessons with Callan Ward. We figured it would make us accountable if we go together. I even visited Spain in the off-season last year.

2) Home life – I’m currently sharing a flat with Jon Patton and Heath Shaw. We’re a pretty diverse trio but we make it work.

3) Clean freak – Living with Jon Patton has forced me to become a part-time cleaner because I’m always picking up after the big man. Heath chips in occasionally, but it’s usually me getting my hands dirty.

4) Family name – Not many people know that Coniglio actually means ‘rabbit' in Italian. Some people used to call me ‘rabbit’ back home in WA but the name hasn’t followed me here (luckily!).

5) Obsessive compulsive – For some reason it annoys me when the stereo and television volumes are set on odd numbers. On game day I go around and make sure they’re all set on even numbers. Not sure why.

This regular series of player stories aims to bring GIANTS fans closer to their heroes by giving a snap-shot into their private lives.
