The GIANTS have added three players to their 25-man squad to face Collingwood in a blockbuster match at the MCG on Sunday.

Defenders Nick Haynes and Zac Williams and ruckman Andrew Phillips have been included in the squad which will be trimmed to 22 at 5pm on Friday.

At this stage there are no outs.

The fifth-placed GIANTS take on the fourth-placed Magpies in one of the biggest games in the club’s history with an eighth win and a spot in the top four up for grabs.

With the likelihood of playing in front of the biggest crowd in the club’s history, Cameron said the group is excited for the challenge.

“Our players are looking forward to playing at the MCG but also playing Collingwood,” Cameron said.

“It’s going to be a really good crowd, they’ve got a big following. There’s a lot of GIANTS supporters flying down to watch the game so it’ll be a good atmosphere.

“In front of a crowd of 50-55,000 will be a new experience for us but I think that’s great for our young lads.

“It’s a great opportunity for both clubs, we’re both 7-3 playing some pretty good footy. When you come up against these really good, quality sides you want to see where you stand.”

It will be a special day for the club with the Auburn GIANTS women’s team - with whom the GIANTS have a strong relationship - playing a nine-a-side curtain raiser on the hallowed turf before the game.

“It’s just great. It’s great for football in New South Wales, it’s great for football in Western Sydney,” Cameron said.

“To have our Auburn GIANTS play in a curtain-raiser and the support that Harvey Norman has given the Auburn GIANTS in terms of getting the girls down there to play a game is just great.

“They’ve created an enormous amount of awareness of footy for the right reasons in the western suburbs of Sydney.”

The GIANTS take on Collingwood at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday afternoon. The game will be live on 7mate and Fox Footy from 1pm.
