One Canberran is lost to suicide every nine days. With the prevalence of suicide rapidly increasing, awareness and demand for Lifeline’s Telephone Crisis Support service (13 11 14) rises each day. It costs Lifeline Canberra $26 for each lifesaving call at a total of $949,000 annually. This week’s match day partner McDonalds are proudly donating $26 for every goal scored by both the GIANTS and Cats, saving a life from being lost to suicide and taking Lifeline one step closer to building a more resilient, suicide-free community.
