Warnie from The Traders, AFL.com.au’s NAB AFL Fantasy experts, will be taking a look at the GIANTS each week exclusive to gwsgiants.com.au.

LAST WEEK

Despite the loss, there were some positives to come out of the game against the Bulldogs from a Fantasy point of view.

In his 200th game, Heath Shaw (136) played the ultimate Fantasy game with 28 disposals, 10 marks and six tackles. What was most impressive is that in his 28 touches, 26 of them were by foot; gaining that extra point for kicking as opposed to handballing. Heater, Fantasy coaches salute you!

Toby Greene (122) booted two goals as he played predominantly forward which could see him gain FWD status prior to round 12 in the next round of DPP additions. Lachie Whitfield (109) is a slight chance to gain DEF status and he was magnificent with 31 disposals and 11 marks.

Playing against his old side, Ryan Griffin (43) didn’t find as much of the ball as he would have liked and has now dropped below $400K.

TOP 5 SCORERS V WESTERN BULLDOGS

  • 136 – Heath Shaw (DEF, $473,000)
  • 122 – Toby Greene (MID, $511,000)
  • 109 – Lachie Whitfield (MID, $470,000)
  • 90 – Stephen Coniglio (MID, $476,000)
  • 87 – Adam Treloar (MID, $533,000)

ON THE RADAR

Is now the right time to trade out Cam McCarthy? If you’re playing breakevens, 66 is about where Sunshine is at after posting just 27 points on the weekend. If you’ve still got him, unlike me, I would be holding out until the GIANTS have their bye in round 13. GWS take on the Lions, Magpies and Kangaroos leading up until the bye so it would be worth holding out as he could provide some handy bench cover in that time.

WHAT’S COMING UP

Last time the boys played the Lions, not only did the GIANTS win the game by 45 points, they also dominated the Fantasy scoreboard.

Nine players scored 90 or more with Callan Ward the best racking up 129 points. Tom Scully (116), Adam Treloar (115) and Dylan Shiel (111) were all very important in the win.
