Stephen Coniglio’s family opened their doors to the entire GIANTS team and support staff for dinner in Perth last weekend.

The 19-year-old joined the GIANTS from Western Australian club Swan Districts as the number two pick in 2011, and with the GIANTS in town, the midfielder extended an invitation to the family home.

Stephen’s parents Sandro and Jane, with the help of the extended Coniglio family, put on a three course meal for 40 people on the eve of the match against Fremantle.

The meal was put together with advice from the GIANTS’ Head of Sports Science John Quinn to ensure the players got the food their bodies required the night before an AFL match.

The night started with chicken soup before the main meal of pasta, turkey, vegetables and salad and finished off with fruit salad for dessert.

The players, support staff and Chairman Tony Shepherd gave the meal the thumbs up and hope the event will become a tradition ahead of GIANTS’ matches in Perth in the years to come.
