The GIANTS are thrilled to have locked away promising youngster Jack Ough on a new two-year deal.

Already signed for 2026, the talented young midfielder has put pen to paper on a two-year extension to remain in orange and charcoal until at least the end of the 2028 AFL season.

Taken with pick 36 in the 2024 Draft, the promising big-bodied midfielder put in several starring performances for the club’s VFL side in 2025 and will be looking to break into the club’s star-studded midfield for an AFL debut in 2026.

Standing at 194cm and possessing clean hands and silky skills, Ough showcased throughout 2025 exactly why the GIANTS have such high hopes for the talented teenager, with the 18-year-old averaging 24 disposals and six tackles per game in the VFL to consistently be amongst the GIANTS’ best.

Also an elite decision maker, Ough was snapped up by the GIANTS in the 2024 Draft following standout performances for both Vic Country and the GWV Rebels.

Preparing to enter his second AFL pre-season in the coming weeks, Ough will be hoping a big summer on the track can put him in contention for a spot in the club’s AFL side in 2026.

GIANTS Executive General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, said it was fantastic to secure Ough’s services for a further two years.

“Jack has shown he’s got some elite qualities and we’re really excited about his potential,” McCartney said.

“He performed really strongly for our VFL side this year as an 18-year-old and we think with another big pre-season under his belt he can take some more big steps in his development.

“Since arriving at the club this time last year he’s applied himself remarkably well and I’m sure with his attitude and talent he’ll be looking to put himself right in the mix for senior opportunities next year.”

Fresh off his new deal, Ough will return to the club for his second pre-season alongside the rest of the 1–4-year players on Monday, November 24.
