Former Swans and Brisbane player Amon Buchanan was appointed a Development Coach at the GIANTS at the end of 2013.

He has since moved into the role of a line coach, initially taking responsibility for the forwards group before taking charge of stoppages for the 2018 season onwards. Buchanan played 134 AFL games over 11 years, including the Swans 2005 premiership. 

He worked with the Swans Academy and as a playing-assistant coach for the Sydney Hills Eagles in the NEAFL. Buchanan was also an assistant coach for the NSW/ACT Rams in the 2013 NAB AFL Under-16 and Under-18 National Championships.
