Tendai Mzungu joined Fremantle as a mature-age player in the 2010 NAB AFL Trade Period in a deal with the Gold Coast, who pre-listed the Perth native as part of their entry concessions. The utility played 102 games for the Dockers over six seasons at the club, kicking 54 goals. He played five games for Fremantle in 2016 and 14 for the club’s WAFL affiliate Peel Thunder, including their maiden Premiership. After being delisted, he joined the GIANTS with pick 15 in the 2016 NAB AFL Rookie Draft.
The versatile midfielder came to the GIANTS after playing just 16 games in the past two seasons with Fremantle and like his good mate Matt de Boer, will provide some decent back-up this year. Mzungu is a handy contributor off half-back and has impressed with his fitness, finishing in the top five in the GIANTS' pre-season time trials.
