GIANTS forward Harry Himmelberg’s appearance has often drawn comparisons to the Marvel character Thor (made famous by Chris Hemsworth), but for what must be the first time, the young forward has been mistaken for a teammate.

Ahead of his 50th game against Melbourne at the MCG last Sunday the goal-kicker was more than happy to pose for a photo with a fan at the team hotel pre-game. The only problem? He wasn’t who the fan thought he was.

“We were in the Pullman Hotel getting ready to go to the game and me and Harry Perryman were getting our pre-game coffee from the bar,” Himmelberg said on the latest episode of The Footy Phil.

“This lady came up to us said ‘oh, can I grab a photo with you?’… so I said, ‘yeah no worries, for sure.’

“We had the photo and anyway yesterday one of my mates from back home tagged me in a page called ‘Nuffies on AFL Pages’ and it’s a screenshot from this guy whose grandmother has sent him a text saying, look who I’ve seen at the Pullman.

“He’s gone ‘oh yeah that’s Harry Himmelberg, I hope it’s a good game’ and she’s replied, ‘I actually think it’s Callan Ward’.”

Himmelberg couldn’t resist the temptation and left the comment ‘Grandma has had a mare’ which was appreciated by a number of the page’s followers.

And unsurprisingly, the emerging star was far from offended by being mistaken for Ward.

Himmelberg is the latest GIANT to join co-captain Phil Davis and GIANTS Media’s Alison Zell on The Footy Phil podcast.

The GIANTS Academy graduate discussed the latest news from across the competition and explained how his love for fashion conflicts with his camping trips.

"I often actually think to myself that it's a funny two interests to have," he said.

"Obviously Wagga is pretty remote, there's a lot of land there and I grew up on two acres which isn't much compared to your Harry Perrymans and Jacob Hoppers but I was always into camping, fourwheel driving and cars.
