The GIANTS have named their 23-player squad to take on Melbourne at Blacktown International Sportspark on Sunday.

Midfielder Jodie Hicks, forward Britt Perry and ruck Erin McKinnon have been added to an extended interchange with the GIANTS chasing their second win of the season after a breakthrough victory last weekend.

The GIANTS could play two rucks for the first time in their short history with McKinnon returning from illness while Ingrid Nielsen impressed on debut in the GIANTS’ nine-point win over Collingwood.

Forward Britt Perry is in line to play her second AFL Women’s match after debuting in round two against the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos at Drummoyne Oval, while midfielder Jodie Hicks could play her third game of the season should she play against the Demons. Forward Maddy Collier has been omitted.

Sunday’s clash shapes as a crucial one for both the GIANTS and Melbourne. A loss would see the two sides battling to stay in finals contention while a win could see the GIANTS move into second place in Conference B.

A Melbourne victory wouldn’t see them jump any higher than third in Conference A, but it would keep their finals hopes well and truly alive with two games to play.

The GIANTS’ final 21 to take on the Demons will be named on gwsgiants.com.au at 4:00pm on Friday.
