GIANTS forward Matt de Boer is free to face his former club on Saturday after being cleared by the AFL Match Review Panel for a bump on Swan Lewis Melican.

De Boer was reported for rough conduct during the second quarter of the GIANTS’ 16 point loss at the SCG on Saturday however, the MRP deemed the incident ‘insufficient high contact for a charge to be sustained’.

One of de Boer’s former team-mates Aaron Sandilands has also avoided suspension and is expected to play at UNSW Canberra Oval on Saturday.

The 211cm ruck received a $2,000 fine for a high bump on Suns midfielder Jarryd Lyons during the third quarter of the Docker’s win on Sunday at Optus Stadium.

Fremantle will be breathing a massive sigh of relief with Sandilands having played a key role in their back-to-back wins against Essendon and Gold Coast, averaging 38.7 hitouts per game so far this season.
