The GIANTS have traded Victorian midfielder Ashleigh Guest to Melbourne in exchange for young key defender Pepa Randall.

Guest, who elected to nominate in the NSW/ACT draft last season, has opted to return home for family reasons with the GIANTS choosing to help facilitate a trade with a Melbourne-based club.

In exchange, the GIANTS have bolstered their defensive stocks with the young defender from the Eastern Devils.

21-year-old Randall has an athletics background and likes to play a running game, using her pace and agility to her advantage.

The trade comes hot on the heels of the recruitment of former Collingwood vice-captain and club Best and Fairest runner up Alicia Eva who joins reigning Gabrielle Trainor Medallist Jessica Dal Pos in committing to the GIANTS.

The club has also re-signed marquee players Emma Swanson and Renee Forth, former number one draft pick and NAB AFLW Rising Star nominee Nicola Barr, fellow Victorian Alex Saundry and up-and-coming young local forward Rebecca Beeson.

The club will announce further re-signings in the coming days with the NAB AFL Women’s trade period finishing on Friday, May 26.
