The GIANTS and Swans will be playing for more than four points when they face off in the blockbuster Battle of the Bridge, Sydney Derby VIII at Spotless Stadium on Saturday.

The cross-town rivals will again play for the White Ribbon Cup with the organisation a proud GIANTS and match-day community partner.

The GIANTS are strong supporters of White Ribbon, Australia’s only national, male led campaign to end men's violence against women.

This week’s Battle of the Bridge will see the club support White Ribbon in a number of ways.

The White Ribbon Cup was launched at the inaugural Sydney Derby in round one, 2012. The GIANTS won the White Ribbon Cup for the first time in their historic round one triumph over the Swans at Spotless Stadium last year.

On Wednesday, GIANTS players and staff were fortunate enough to have Angela Barker, a survivor of domestic violence, visit the club and speak about her inspirational story.

Fans coming to the game have the option of adding a $2 donation to White Ribbon to their ticket purchases while white ribbons can also be purchased from volunteers at the game.

An Air Force C-130J Hercules adorned with 4.6-metre White Ribbons on its tail will conduct flypasts of Spotless Stadium. Look to the sky just before the teams run out on to the ground with the aircraft to fly in at a low level over and around the Stadium.

Look out for the two White Ribbons in the cheer squad and head to their marquee at Gate A for a heap of fun activities including a player appearance at half time.

GIANTS co-captains Callan Ward and Phil Davis are passionate ambassadors for White Ribbon and ending violence against women. White Ribbon are also a premium community partner of the club.

One woman a week in Australia is killed as a result of intimate partner violence, one in five Australian women experience harassment in the workplace and one in five women over the age of 18 will be stalked in their lifetime.

The White Ribbon campaign works through primary prevention initiatives including awareness and education raising with schools, work places and across the broader community.

Their vision is to have all women live in safety free from all forms of men’s violence.

The winning captain will be presented with the White Ribbon Cup following Saturday’s game. The player judged best on ground will receive the Brett Kirk Medal.

The GIANTS take on the Swans in the Battle of the Bridge, Sydney Derby VIII, on Saturday at 2.10pm at Spotless Stadium. Tickets for this blockbuster match are selling fast and we strongly recommend you pre-purchase to avoid missing out.
