Originally designed for the Sydney 2000 Olympics, the Sydney Showground opened in 1998 and is operated by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS). It is now home to the Greater Western Sydney GIANTS, Sydney Thunder and the iconic Sydney Royal Show, which attracts over 900,000 people each year.
It has also played host to music festivals including Stereosonic, Big Day Out and Soundwave where the stadium will hold upwards of 50,000 music lovers.
The family friendly stadium was redeveloped in 2012 with the support of a $65 million funding package from the NSW Government and the AFL.
Upgraded features include:
- - Increased seating capacity to 25,000.
- - Corporate hospitality bars and function spaces.
- - New Media facilities.
- - Improved audio systems.
- - Biggest in-stadium scoreboard/screen in the southern hemisphere.
Located within Sydney Olympic Park, Spotless Stadium is 25 minutes west of the Anzac Bridge and Sydney’s Darling Harbour.
