GIANTS Academy ruck Kieren Briggs has become the second Western Sydney product to be drafted by the GIANTS.
Following in the footsteps of Nick Shipley in 2017, the Pennant Hills Demons product was selected with pick 34 of the NAB AFL Draft in Melbourne on Friday afternoon.
Briggs was bid on by West Coast but being a GIANTS Academy graduate the GIANTS matched the Eagles' selection.
The 200cm under 18’s All Australian ruck is an imposing figure who showed he can also play in the backline and as a marking target up forward in games for the Allies and the GIANTS’ NEAFL side.
“He was the All Australian ruckman and he’s from Western Sydney, so it was a pretty easy decision for us,” GIANTS National Recruiting Manager Adrian Caruso said.
“A super competitor who we believe will develop significantly once in our program full-time.”
