Forward Toby Greene has been cleared by the AFL Match Review Officer of any wrongdoing regarding his controversial marking technique.

The MRO assessed two incidents involving Greene during Saturday’s Elimination Final win over the Swans at the SCG, one from the second quarter involving Aliir Aliir and the other involving Nic Newman during the fourth quarter.

Both were deemed to have been below the force required for a charge to be laid but that in the second instance a free kick should have been paid against the star forward for a separate careless pushing action before the marking contest.

Greene has, however, been charged with misconduct for an incident involving Swan Isaac Heeney during the third quarter and can accept a $2,500 fine.

Young midfielder Jacob Hopper has also been fined $2,500 for making careless contact with umpire Nathan Williamson during the second quarter of the GIANTS’ win.

In addition, the MRO found that forward Harry Himmelberg has no case to answer regarding his bump on Newman in the fourth quarter.
