The GIANTS held a rare training session at the SCG on Friday morning with some high-profile visitors that are very familiar with the venue on hand to support the team.

Australian Cricket Captain Tim Paine was joined by pacemen Pat Cummins and Andrew Tye in watching the GIANTS as they trained for the final time ahead of Saturday’s Elimination Final against the Swans.

It’s not the first time that Paine has dropped by GIANTS training with the relative of GIANTS defender Heath Shaw meeting players at Blundstone Arena in Hobart before their round nine clash against North Melbourne.

Paine and Sydney Sixers big hitter Jordan Silk presented bats to the GIANTS in exchange for a personalised orange and charcoal jumper.

‪Talk about a welcoming party!‬ ‪Australian Cricket Team captain Tim Paine and Tasmanian batsman (and GIANTS tragic) Jordan Silk came down to watch the GIANTS train at Blundstone Arena.

Cummins, who’s had connection with the club since 2012, was raised in GIANTS territory having come through the ranks of the Glenbrook Blaxland Cricket Club in the Blue Mountains.

The GIANTS have strong support in the national teams with fast bowler Mitch Starc and his wife Alyssa Healy vocal supporters of both the GIANTS AFL and AFLW sides.

Starc spreads the word about the GIANTS whenever possible with off-spinner Nathan Lyon a recent GIANTS convert.

The SCG was a hive of activity with the GIANTS witnessing Starc and fellow quick Josh Hazelwood work out in the nets ahead of a busy summer schedule.
