As the GIANTS celebrate the club’s 150th AFL game, there are two foundation members who are celebrating the same significant milestone.

Paula Strother and her son Steven from Douglas Park in the Macarthur Region of Western Sydney will this Saturday attend their 150th GIANTS’ AFL game.

The duo has travelled 198,058km, taken 202 flights and celebrated all 58 of the GIANTS wins over the past seven seasons.

The Strothers sit amongst the Orange Army every week and were there when the GIANTS won their first game in round 7, 2012, cheered as the GIANTS won at the MCG for the first time in 2014 and made a big, big sound at ANZ Stadium as the GIANTS won their first final in 2016.

Paula said their passion for the GIANTS blossomed as they didn’t want to miss any of the club’s historic moments.

“As a family we have always followed Aussie Rules football and moving from Adelaide to Sydney, we decided then that we wanted to be part of our own club in Sydney,” she said.

“To be able to say I was there at its origin is very special to me.

“The first couple of seasons we didn't want to miss our first win. Then it was about being there and cheering the guys on; even if we were losing by big margins, we wanted to be there to support them too.

“Footy gets in your blood, soul and heart and we just love our GIANTS.”

The GIANTS would like to congratulate the Strothers on their incredible milestone and look forward to seeing them in the Orange Army for many years to come.
