Mature-age forward Zac Langdon is the most recent GIANT to extend his contract with the club, signing a one-year extension until the end of 2020.

The 22-year-old apprentice electrician, who was selected at pick 56 in last year’s NAB AFL Draft, made his AFL debut in round one, kicking three goals in his first two games.

“I’ve only been here a few months, but I felt comfortable as soon as I walked through the doors so when it got brought up it was pretty easy for me to extend,” Langdon said.

“I’m really excited about it and just can’t wait to see what my future is here.

“I’m loving it here. It’s my first time in Sydney but I’m loving what we’ve got here, and the beaches are really nice. The boys have been getting around me, so it’s been a really easy transition.”

Langdon arrived at the GIANTS after being plucked from the WAFL playing for Claremont. He made the 1500km move from Dampier to Perth the year before to pursue his AFL dream.

The pressure forward made an immediate impact at his new club, playing two JLT Community Series matches before being selected for the season opener.

Currently sidelined with a hand injury, Langdon is expected to be available for selection in the coming weeks.

GIANTS List Manager Jason McCartney said it was exciting news for the club.

“Zac has been a tremendous addition to our list since he arrived last pre-season and I commend our recruiting team on their conviction to pick him up later on in the draft,” McCartney said.

“Zac’s proven himself to be a valuable member of our forward line in just the two games he’s played but more than that, he’s a fantastic person and has slotted into our group seamlessly.

“We’re thrilled he’s extended his contract with the club and can’t wait to see him back out on the field in the very near future.”

Langdon is the most recent GIANT to commit to the club, following in the footsteps of co-captain Phil Davis, superstar forward Toby Greene and young guns Aiden Bonar and Isaac Cumming.
