Forwards Steve Johnson and Rory Lobb both face fitness tests in a bid to take on Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Saturday night.

Johnson missed last Saturday’s win over the Eagles with knee soreness while Lobb was a late withdrawal with groin/hamstring tightness.

There were no further injuries from the weekend’s AFL or NEAFL games with Ryan Griffen the only other player looking to return to the field this season.

Griffen suffered back-to-back syndesmosis ankle injuries and last played at senior level in round three. The veteran midfielder is two weeks away from playing.

Tim Taranto (ankle) and Sam Reid (ankle) both made successful returns for the GIANTS Reserves in the NEAFL on Saturday with Taranto picking up 30 touches, six tackles and a goal.

Ruckman Dawson Simpson sat out the NEAFL clash with shoulder soreness but is back to full training this week with the Reserves’ season over.

The GIANTS head to Simonds Stadium in Geelong to take on the Cats on Saturday night in the final round of the home and away season.
