GIANTS forward Toby Greene won't have an issue if West Coast follows through with a promise to target the fiery forward in Saturday's clash at Spotless Stadium.
Eagles coach Adam Simpson told the media on Thursday that his players "will try everything to try to get him (Greene) off his game", after the GIANTS was involved in another on-field incident against the Western Bulldogs last week.
GIANTS coach Leon Cameron said on Friday that his 2016 club champion wouldn't be fazed by any tactics the Eagles might employ to take his focus off the footy.
"I don't think that worries him at all - in fact I think it works the opposite way," he said.
"He's one of those players that thrives on that attention and thrives on the big stage.
"There's no doubt that if the Eagles do try to intimidate him verbally or physically, Toby will absorb that really, really well, and play to the best of his ability like we've seen in the past."
Cameron said the media spotlight on Greene this week hadn't affected the 23-year-old, and he expected him to be a key player for the home side in a match that is crucial for both the GIANTS' top-four hopes, and West Coast's finals chances.
"His week has been fine, he goes about his business and has trained really well," Cameron said.
"He's had an interesting year, and he's the first to put his hand up after the suspensions he's had.
"It's been disappointing from a club point of view and for Toby, because he's better off being on the field than in the stands.
"He's looking forward to the contest, there's some fantastic Eagles players that he's going to come up against.
"He just likes playing footy and I don't think he'll be too worried."
First-year GIANT Matt de Boer will have another important role alongside Greene inside 50 against the Eagles, in what will be his 150th match, and could be assigned to keep tabs on All Australian contender Elliot Yeo.
Cameron said the former Fremantle midfielder has been an outstanding recruit this season, and thoroughly deserves his milestone.
"I could probably talk for 20 minutes about Matt de Boer and he's only been here for nine months, so that tells you something about him," he said.
"He's a terrific team player, has great character, and is well respected universally around the AFL for the way he goes about it.
"He knows his limitations but he's playing a great role for us and gives us great flexibility in the front half.
"He challenges the group to get better and is the ultimate team player."
