The GIANTS could re-gain stars Josh Kelly and Devon Smith for Saturday night’s blockbuster clash against Geelong at Spotless Stadium.

Kelly missed last week’s win over the Brisbane Lions after injuring his hip at training during the bye the previous weekend.

With a week on the sidelines, Kelly will train on Wednesday and is expected to line up against the Cats on Saturday night.

The blockbuster clash between first and third on the ladder could also see the return of small forward Devon Smith who has been sidelined for six weeks following knee surgery ahead of round nine.

Smith was expected to miss anywhere between six and 12 weeks with a torn meniscus but has recovered well to put his hand up for selection in round 15.

It’s more positive news for the club after young rising star Tim Taranto underwent ankle surgery on Monday which will see him out for 8-10 weeks.

Rookie Jake Stein will also face a test (groin) while midfielders Jacob Hopper (ankle - 3 weeks), Stephen Coniglio (ankle - 4 weeks) and Lachie Tiziani (knee - 2-3 weeks) are expected to return to the field in the next month.

Star recruit Brett Deledio is continuing his recovery from a minor calf injury sustained on his ‘good’ leg with his return to be determined in the coming weeks.
